The Ultimate Rose Mylkshake
Do you love milkshakes but all that dairy will make your tummy gurgle? Are you also a big fan of anything rose-flavoured? You will want to head to your kitchen and make this dairy-free rose mylkshake today! Yes, the term ‘mylkshake’ is usually used to refer to a milkshake that is made with a dairy-free alternative.
Growing up, there was this infamous ‘rose sharbat’ beverage I used to get on special occasions or sometimes, just as a treat when I woke up from a nap. In English, I used to call this ‘Rose Milk’. If you are East Indian, you may know what I am referring to and if you are also a fan of rose sharbat, drop a comment in the comment box below and let me know! This infamous milk traditionally used cow’s milk and rose syrup for the sweetness, colour, and rose essence. Now as an adult and a naturopathic doctor, I had an urge to re-create this rose sharbat without the dairy, sugar and artificial colour. If you are curious to know if you have a dairy food sensitivity, book a naturopathic assessment and we can figure out your food reactivities.
This “Ultimate Rose Mylkshake” is dairy-free, doesn’t have artificial colours, and processed/refined sugar and to make it more nutritious, there is a punch of protein as well! The perfect pink drink for Valentine’s day, any other special occasion, or just a casual day when you want some extra T.L.C in your life because Rose helps activate the heart chakra.

METHOD:
Peel the beet and chop it into small cubes and add 3-4 small cubes into the blender.
Add 1 cup of the unsweetened almond milk.
Add the collagen powder, rosewater, and stevia.
Blend until it is all blended and the beets are not chunky. You may see flecks of beets but as long as there are no big chunks you are good :)
Pour into your favourite milkshake cup or mason jar and enjoy with a stainless steel straw if you want to be extra!
