About Dr. Suhani Shah, Naturopathic Doctor and Clinic Director / Founder

Dr. Suhani Shah (a.k.a Dr. Suhani, ND) is a licensed naturopathic doctor in Alberta and Ontario.  Prior to completing her 4-year postgraduate naturopathic medical degree, she obtained her undergraduate degree from the Applied Human Nutrition honours professional degree program at the University of Guelph where she graduated with distinction.  Through her personal health journey, she developed a keen interest to work in healthcare and throughout her undergraduate degree, she developed a passion for nutrition, cooking, and became a ‘foodie’.

She got drawn to naturopathic medicine because it blended medical science with nutrition, holistic wellness principles, and aimed at digging deeper to uncover the root cause.  She focuses on helping women (entrepreneurs, students, moms, and professionals) optimizing their hormone and digestive health to increase their energy and avoid burnout, improve their fertility and menstrual health. Helping women thrive means optimizing the health and wellness of their kids too because a sick child can increase a mother’s stress.

She knew being a naturopathic doctor wasn’t the only aspect of her holistic career and has always felt inspired to educate and empower individuals to make healthier food choices and promote whole-food nutrition as much as possible. Health and wellness is a whole-body approach from good nutrition, optimal mental physical and mental wellness, and physical fitness.

She also has a private Facebook Community exclusive for women where women can talk about their stressors, ‘mom’ things, share resources, recipes and tips because her goal is to build a wellness community for women where everyone empowers and supports each other and has a sense of belonging.

Why ‘Acacia’?  If you have ever been to Africa, you will notice the mighty Acacia tree that stands tall and alone with its majestic leaves and branches.  This is one of Dr. Suhani’s favourite trees and creates a sense of grounding energy for her because it takes her back to her roots as she was born in Kenya, a country in East Africa.
